caution  Snellville Tourism and Trade suspends the majority of events through October 2020.  Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and rise in hospitalizations, we feel it is important to keep the health and safety of our citizens and visitors first and foremost. We feel that we cannot properly social distance at our concerts and larger events and are taking the advice of Gwinnett Newton Rockdale Health Department doctors who suggest not to have large gatherings of people, which can spread the virus, even outdoors.

The following events will be canceled until 2021:  Snellville Concert Series (Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 10), Star-Spangled Labor Day (Sept. 5), Taste of Snellville (Sept. 12), Fall Festival (Oct. 24).  Remember to wash your hands, social distance, and wear a mask to protect yourself and others.

Snellville Tourism & Trade encourages residents to stay safe and informed during this time regarding the Corona Virus. Commerce Club Supports Toys for Tots

Toys For Tots has become a holiday tradition for The Commerce Club. Each year, our December meeting is held at Summit Chase Country Club, and we invite members of the US Marines to visit as we bring toys and money to support their Toys for Tots program.

We are able to present the our Marines with several bags of toys to distribute to needy children in Gwinnett County. We in the past we have also presented our Marines with a generous donation, including a $1,000 check from Rick Locke and the Snellville Wal-Mart.

Toys For TotsIn 2008, the club was presented with a letter from P.R. Ozmer, Jr., the commanding officer of Marine light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773, based in Marietta. The letter reads,

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Jimmy Norton and the members of the Snellville Chamber of Commerce for your continued support of HMLA-773. Through your generous donations and efforts, you have directly attributed to the unit's ability to effectively dissemminate information to the families of our Marines. Your value to the squadon can not be overstated.

As the Commanding Officer, it has been a great honor to work with your Chamber. Your faithful service will facilitate the Marines' ability to accomplish the mission regardless of their personal trials. Your service to country, Corps and the Red Dogs is an inspiration for all. Thank you for a job well done and Semper Fidelis!
